Resettlement Audit – Corridor X Motorway
From 2011-2013 Plexus audited the World Bank-financed sections of the Corridor X motorway project in Serbia. The project is part of the Pan-European Corridor X Highway scheme linking the Serbian, Bulgarian and Greek highway networks with Europe.
Deliverables
The audits focused on resettlement and compliance with World Bank Operational Policy (OP 4.12) – Involuntary Resettlement and applicable Serbian regulatory requirements. The audits were conducted on an annual basis and involved a combination of document review, site visits and stakeholder consultation.
Outcomes
The results of the audits were addressed to both the World Bank and Roads Serbia, the Serbian government agency overseeing the construction of the motorway.
